Bonnie Kathleen (Tuominen) Johnson

DULUTH, Minn. - Bonnie Kathleen (Tuominen) Johnson, age 85, passed away at Elysian Senior Homes in Duluth, where she resided for the last three years.

Bonnie was born on March 30, 1939, in Duluth to George and Eva Tuominen. She grew up in Cedar Valley. She married Ronald Johnson on Jan. 9,1960, in Floodwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Kyle Lee and brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Jean Tuominen.

Ronald and Bonnie raised their family in Ironwood, Michigan, for 40 years and retired to Hermantown in 2003. Bonnie was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran church.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ron, of 64 years; her children, Rory of Duluth, Pam (Rick) Kauppila of Negaunee, Michigan, Brent (Natalie) of Superior, Wisconsin, Aaron (Jen) of Maple Lake, and Chad (Gina) of Hermantown; siblings, Bill (Mary), Leon (Julie), Ruth (Harvey) Seppanen, Tim (Kathy) and Mark (Lori); 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of brothers and sisters in faith.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elysian Senior Homes for the loving care they provided for Bonnie.

Funeral services for Bonnie were held on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at the Independent Apostolic Church in Munger.
