Schools plan Veterans Day programs

Ironwood — Monday will be Veterans Day, and on this important holiday, many area schools are holding services open to both their respective student bodies and the public.

The timing for each service in the tri-county region is as follows:

Iron County

The Hurley School District service will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.

The Mercer School District service will start at 10 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Gogebic County

The Ironwood Area School District service will run from 1 to 2 p.m. in the second floor gymnasium.

The Bessemer A. D. Johnston High School service will start at 10 a.m. in the high school gymnasium, preceded by a 9 a.m. breakfast for veterans in the cafeteria and hosted by student members of the National Honors Society.

The Wakefield Marenisco School District service will start at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Watersmeet Township School District’s service will start at 9 a.m. in the high school gymnasium.

Ontonagon County

An Ontonagon Area School District breakfast for veterans will be held in the school cafeteria beginning at 9 a.m.EST.

Ewen-Trout Creek School District will offer a service at 10 a.m. EST in the high school gymnasium, followed by lunch for all attendants.
