Jan Alexander Stahl

HURLEY, Wis. - Jan Alexander Stahl, 69, of Hurley, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at his home, with his loving wife, Dorrene, at his side.

Jan was born on July 3, 1955, in Ironwood, Michigan.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for eight years.

In 1992, Jan married Dorrene O'Donnell in Hurley.

He was an extremely talented musician, playing lead guitar in many area bands. Jan was a phenomenal chef, being employed at the Iron County Senior Center, Ironwood American Legion Post 5 fish fry and the Branding Iron Steak House in downtown Hurley.

Jan is survived by his wife, Dorrene; a niece, Nicole Swanson, and her children, Savannah, Alexis and Giovanni; a nephew, Clint Holmes, and his children, Bryce, Georgia and Colton; many friends, including his best friend, Ken Pellinen; and his four-legged companion, Mad Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Joseph Stahl and Dagmar Violet Anderson; two brothers, Jim and Jon; and a sister, JoAnne.

At his request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
