Susan 'Susie' Anderson

BERGLAND, Mich. - Susan "Susie" Anderson, 69, of Bergland, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin, with her sister, Laurie, at her side.

Susie was born on April 28, 1955, in Ironwood, to Kenneth and Oddny Anderson, and grew up in Ironwood Township. She was a graduate of Luther L. Wright High School and continued her education and earned an associate degree in business/accounting.

Susie was proud to be one of the few females to work as a certified forklift operator for many years. Later, she was the manager at the Bergland Mobil, where she enjoyed the daily banter with the customers until she retired.

Susie had fun side-by-side riding with her lifelong partner, Sue, and her many friends. She enjoyed watching her granddaughter, McKenna, play softball and caring for her beloved pets. Her favorite television show was "The Golden Girls." She could watch the same episode a million times and still laugh like it was her first time watching. Susie was known for her strong, candid personality and was always good for a laugh. She had a great sense of humor and a unique laugh.

Susie is survived by her loving spouse, Suzanne Barnaby; a daughter, Erin (Louie) Wolfe; her only grandchild, McKenna Wolfe; her siblings, Jill (Kim) Kangas, Eric (Jean) Anderson and Laurie (Mark) Wesa; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Daniel and Donald; three sisters, Linda, Sally and Dawn; and two great-nephews, Trevor and Josh.

A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. EST, at her home, 34276 Bergland Road, in Bergland, with the Rev. Ted Trudgeon officiating. A celebration of life will take place later that day at 3 p.m. EST, at AJ's Walleye Lodge, on the North Shore of beautiful Lake Gogebic.
