RAMSAY, Mich. – Arlene Ann (Harvey) Wiemeri, 86, of Ramsay, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in Wakefield.
Arlene was born on April 22, 1938, in Wakefield, daughter of Raymond G. and Florence (Hood) Harvey. She was one of ten children, so her childhood was full of fun and mischief. She graduated from Wakefield High School.
On April 22, 1961, Arlene was united in marriage to William Raymond "Bill" Wiemeri in Wakefield. They were blessed with four sons.
Arlene was a homemaker for many years and enjoyed the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ramsay. She was kind to everyone, unfailingly supportive and worked hard to ensure her loved ones had everything they needed. An entertainer at heart, she loved to host her kids and grandkids. Her famous pancakes and Rice Krispie bars were always fresh, along with a freezer full of dilly bars.
She was the epitome of a mover and shaker, always busy doing something and rarely sitting still.
Arlene also enjoyed her job at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility. For 16 years, this job gave her a sense of joy and fulfillment.
Arlene is survived by four sons, Brian of Milwaukee, Bill (Millie) of Champlin, Jim (Sharon) of Ironwood, and Jeff of Ironwood; eight grandchildren, Bryce, Brayden, Lexi, Austin, Natalie, Jacquelyn, Katee and Jakob; several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Roger (Louise) Harvey of Arizona, Gloria Randall of Wakefield, and Shirley (David) Berg of Wakefield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Florence; her husband, Bill; her siblings, Ray (JoAnn) Harvey, Margie Harvey, David Harvey, Mary Ann Harvey (Tom), Clayton Harvey and Jimmy Harvey; and her brother-in-law, Bernard Roger "Benny" Randall.
Rosie, Arlene's steadfast companion and sidekick pet for many years, passed away in October 2024.
Out of respect for her wishes, Arlene was cremated.
A private family service will be held in the summer of 2025 at Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Gogebic Medical Care Facility staff for their outstanding care and compassion for their mother.
