CANCELLED SISU DRAWS 400

FOUR STUDENTS from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minn., show joy in finding snow at ABR Trails in Ironwood's Erwin Township on Jan. 11. From left are David Carlson, Claire Brings, Erin Coleman and Zoe Walker. They had signed up to compete in the Sisu Ski Fest, which normally would have started from ABR on that day. The race, however, had been cancelled due to trails lacking enough snow to support up to 800 anticipated skiers. Hence, the students decided to spend a week here anyway. According to an ABR Facebook post by Vic Calore, almost 400 other racers also joined them to get their hat, pin, shirt and a free day of cross country skiing.
