Ronald A. Poquette

MADISON, Wis. - Ronald A. Poquette, 63, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at UnityPoint Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Ron was born on Oct. 21, 1961, the son of Edward G. and Joanne M. (Dishaw) Poquette in West Allis, Wisconsin. On Aug. 19, 1995, he was united in marriage with Sharon L. Tippett Richardson in Ironwood, Michigan.

A proud veteran, Ron served in the Michigan National Guard and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. Throughout his military service, Ron worked on the civilian side as a meat cutter, car salesman, and sales manager at various grocery stores and car dealerships throughout Michigan and Wisconsin.

Ron cherished the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing and especially looked forward to trips to his hunting camp in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He found joy in tending to his garden, perfecting his golf swing and engaging in a good game of cribbage. His evenings were often spent relaxing with his wife, Sharon, while watching game shows or any movie he could find.

Above all, Ron will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make everyone around him laugh and feel at ease. He treasured the company of his friends and family, finding happiness in the moments spent together.

Ron will be deeply missed by his wife, Sharon; his children, Andrew (Sara) Poquette, Nathan (Brittany) Poquette, Sarah (Justin) Schaffer, Scott (Lynn) Richardson and Chad (Megan) Richardson; eight grandchildren with one on the way; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; his sister, Denise (Robert) Withrow; and brothers, Steven (Kay) Poquette and Larry (Patricia) Poquette.

A memorial gathering for Ron took take place on Monday, Jan. 20, at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A Celebration of Life was held with military honors following the service.

Ron's legacy of laughter, love and camaraderie will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
